Challenge
As a newly founded organization, AGE-WELL stakeholders have difficulty telling stories about their mission as a variety of stakeholders (researchers, clinicians, caregivers, government workers) were involved in the creation of the organization.
Approach
After rigorous interviews and design workshops with stakeholders, we came up with scripts and storyboards that reflect the collective voice of their multiple stakeholders. We used tools and methodologies from the human centered design approach to co-create the story and the project plans.
Solution
The first outcome from the workshops turned out as an animated video to introduce AGE-WELL’s to the world. As an early stage organization full of fresh ideas, activities, and vision, we developed a sketch-style to convey AGE-WELL’s beginnings. Symbolic visuals were used to represent the many innovative projects currently going through rapid product development at the organization.
Conclusion
The benefit of this project wasn’t just about creating a quality video. The process of co-creating the first story brought the stakeholders and partners together. Ever since the video was shown at AGE-WELL’s first national conference, it is being used in conferences and showcases, as well as AGE-WELL’s online marketing channels, contributing to the rapid growth of the organization.
