Nuttri: A science-backed baby meal planner app

Challenge
First-time parents often feel lost when it comes to introducing solid food to their babies. While science tells the first 1000 days is the critical time for nutritional interventions, a lot of parents still rely on outdated information, or tools that don’t offer relevant functionalities.

How might we empower tired and confused parents to provide meals to their babies?

Approach
We developed quick prototypes (mobile apps) to test parents’ interest in infant feeding first. End user feedback was gathered through surveys, interviews, as well as user interaction data. The content and features were reviewed by physicians and researchers.

Solution

  • Learn: Discover natural food ingredients, nutritional information, and serving tips.
  • Track: Make a list of food to try. Create a watchlist to monitor food allergies.
  • Plan: Design meals to reduce the chance of any nutritional deficiencies.

Outcome
Based on users’ support and data, Nuttri went through quick iterations to become one of the most popular (100K+ downloads) and highly rated app (4.8/5) in the parenting category at Play Store.
