Challenges
Wisetail is a tech company that had recently completed a merger. Soon after, the COVID-19 pandemic had created massive shifts throughout the business landscape. In order to succeed, Wisetail knew they would need to pursue new market opportunities. I lead the design of a SaaS product that could help partners across the retail, restaurant, and fitness sectors survive the pandemic. Furthermore, we plan to make this new product to be integrated with Wisetail LMS platform and possibly open up more opportunities in the new industries.
Approach
To help align perspectives and goals across our cross-functional team, I facilitated multiple design sprint sessions and came up with prototypes that were testable by users. Once the product vision was clarified, I closely worked with the business lead, product owner, and tech leads to come up with design documents with a clear scope. Then, product design went through multiple revisions based on feasibility input and usability testing. Revised prototypes were used to get focus group feedback to ensure market fit, as well as to develop pre-sales opportunities.

Solution
The result of this collaborative process: Wisetail Daily Checklists, a platform that helps businesses ensure that they are running their locations safely, meeting brand standards, and complying with COVID-19 related regulations. The application is designed in a way that corporate users can create digital checklists and publish them to each business location. Users in each location have seamless visual access to daily checklists, progress reports, and historical records. We foresee these checklists will be widely used to help businesses ensure compliance with health and safety standards, both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outcome
I presented the final product design through my prototype to the entire company and received very positive feedback. Our CX team has been gathering very positive feedback from existing clients regarding its intuitive UX and already made up-selling opportunities before the product launch.
Since the official product launch is scheduled for November, 2020, detailed product design can be shared during meetings only. Learn more about the product in the company article and introduction video (1.5 min)

[…] I compiled all deliverables (notes, sketches, prototypes, testing results) together. Then, the outcomes, key insights and recommendations were presented to the leadership. In the end, that vision has become the basis for the new product design. […]
